Clarity Stamp Challenge - All About Words

Hello there everyone, nice to be back.  I have written so many blogs lately that I haven't finished or that I felt had a little too much waffle in them or that I simply didn't have any pictures for?  I have been having Computer/Ipad and IPhone trouble!! All sorted now after a phone call to Apple YES THEY DO HAVE A PHONE NO!! taken me about two yours to find it though!!!!

Anyway I am going to make this Blog Post waffle free as I seem to be meeting myself forwards in coming backwards this week!!  I have also had a bit of a crafting Meltdown for some reason.  Sometimes that just happens doesn't it.  I think it is because I was trying to be "organised" well just the word itself takes all your creativity away doesn't it???  Is it big headed to call yourself creative?? Ah well I think I am sometimes anyway!

So No waffle I keep telling myself, I have a few pictures to show you as a sort of tutorial for my DT piece for this Clarity Stamp Challenge. This is a tutorial not necessarily on how to decorate a canvass but how to recover a canvas you have decorated and don't like - twice!!! I like to be honest because I used to sit in my room and think I was the only one who couldn't produce a good piece of art straight off, but its not the case, we all have these moments but it can always be sorted out.  A lot of my work is from "sorting out" which I now realise is actually the way a lot of Mixed Media people work.  They make it, they cover it, they make it again, they spray it!!!  So what's the difference here eh? I will let you decide.

Items Used on this Canvas

All Items from Clarity Stamp :
 Stencil
 Word Chain Stamps
Acrylic Paints

Isn't this beautiful??? I was so happy with this, except heat embossing the words onto the Canvas hadn't worked, they didn't stand out enough.  So I left it while I went to look at showers (we are having our En-Suite re done)
BUT WHEN I GOT BACK I FOUND THIS???

All the white had lost its pattern and the colours had really dulled down
it all sank in even more than this when it was dry and just looked dull!

SO I DID THIS ! SEE THE BACKGROUND IN PINK WITH BLACK ETC
AND THAT DIDN'T IMPRESS ME EITHER?
SO I DID THIS!!

AND THIS

I LOVE THESE EDGES BUT NOT SO KEEN ON THIS???

Hmmmmmmm?  So then I did THIS

AND

NOW AT THIS STAGE THE INK DECIDES TO
SEEP THROUGH AND SHOW ITSELF
IN ALL ITS GLORY????

So I carried on!
 With This

and this

finally I was kind of starting to like it.

So I actually put the words on three times because the vibrant ink colours that had disappeared whilst I was looking for a shower, decided it wanted to show itself now so every time I  put the words on with Tissue Paper and Glue & Seal, the ink came up nd obliterated the words, see the word above!!  So I used an old trick and  painted a white background - even though I felt this defeated the object a little because my initial idea was to Heat Emboss the words directly onto the canvas so that you can put anything else on top and rub them down to still show through.  There are mediums for this but I wanted to try it with the Embossing powders, but the inks seep underneath.
 Anyway, there you have it

"Make Change Forever"

Why the house?  Well I have been making some little changes around my Home and with my Kids,
a few little changes add up to bigger changes - sometimes you don't realise how far kids have pushed the boundaries back do you? like bed time, game time, this all affects the harmony of a home, lack of sleep, arguments over whose turn it is for what!!! - Tonight all is calm!!! so that's why the house

AND THE FINAL FINISHED CANVAS

I hope all is calm in your Home too and I hope, if you don't actually like my Canvas, that you appreciate how much work I put into it to "Make It Right"? Did you notice there for a moment I almost did something in really bright PINK???

Please nip along to our Clarity Stamp Challenge Blog and take a look at the lovely work that the rest of our DT have put on our Blog for your inspiration. and please join in and Have A Go!!
Bye for now,
Sam xxx
