EXCITING News & A New Clarity Stamp Challenge

Hi there I have some exciting news.  I have joined the ClarityStamp Challenge Design Team Yehhhh!
I think there will be a lot of Gelli Plating going on in my DT work but for the first one I decided to do some inking off my Splodge Mat. The Challenge theme this month is "Winter" and I am pretty sure the beautiful samples by the rest of the team will inspire you to have a go at the challenge.. Three of the DT members have just left due to other commitments so there are three of us who are new to the team, Jo Rice and Amanda Branston being the other two. I would like to thank the ladies who have been on the team from day one for their lovely warm welcome and thank you for having me on the Team  Sally Anne Haines.

Anyway for this months challenge the theme is Winter which was ideal for me because since I saw Jack Vettriano on Breakfast TV last week -  the Artist who is well known for his painting called "The Singing Butler" amongst others -his picture has been on my mind a lot.  Now I don't normally get political but there are a lot of politics in the world of Art apparently and unbelievably Jack has only just been authenticated in the Art world and been offered his very first Gallery Show.  I have always loved this picture of The Singing Butler and think he should have been recognised for his talents a long time ago.  He was lovely on the interview and you could tell this meant a lot to him.

Here is a very quick picture tutorial to show you how I did the background.

Items Used. :
Clarity Mask - Hills
Clarity Stamps Letterbox
Clarity Stamps - Characters
Splodge Mat

I started by taping a border round the edges, then I placed the
Clarity Hills Mask in place.
For the Sky I put the ink on my Splodge Mat and blended it into the sponge
I then dragged down over randomly to get the "Stormy" look to it.
If this is done right you can get a real look of rain.  I was only aiming for Moody skies on this one.

For the Sand I used my all time favourite blending colour "Butterscotch! Adironak Ink
I used the same mask but the other end of it to get the ripples of the sand. Butterscotch
is a great Ink for most blending, it warms up cold colours, it gives a good base for stencil patterns too.

So this is my ClarityStamp Challenge DT work
 WINTER -" Stormy Sea's"

Well I obviously I can't paint pictures like Jack Vettriano  HOWEVER, I thought I would do my own craft style interpretation of it.
I always felt that the Singing Butler was on the beach in Winter and
I love the beach at any time of year.
Please feel free to leave a comment I always appreciate them and why not  join in
our challenge and show us your interpretation of "Winter".
The winner of the Challenge will receive a £50 Clarity Stamp Voucher
and the Top 5 will all get a mention on the Blog
Bye for now and Carry On Crafting
Sam

    1. Hi Janet, yes I do realise that but when I made the card I didn't think about it because I have always imagined for some reason that the beach scene I am talking about was in winter time? AND I did only have 24 hours to produce my DT Card. So on this occasions should we let it slip?
